You might have read about the numerous benefits and uses of beeswax from our previous posts; the benefits of beeswax on the skin, beard, and how to remove hair with beeswax. Today, we are learning how to make lip balms. The weather gets dry and chilly sometimes and our lips react. Let's prepare this DIY Organic lip balm.
Before you begin, ensure that you have these ingredients and materials ready.
Beeswax (2 tsps)
Coconut Oil (2 tsps)
Shea Butter (2 tsps)
Peppermint Essential Oil (about 20 - 30 drops)
Lip Chap Tubes (can be replaced with a small jar)
A plastic pipette to fill the tubes to avoid spillage.

If you’re switching from the standard lipstick and want some color and natural shimmer, add a reasonable amount of mica or turmeric powder. It has a natural color, shimmer, and blends perfectly.
Method
Melt 3 teaspoons OTI yellow raw beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil in a small glass bowl over a pot of boiling water and stir with the spatula until it’s molten.
Turn off the heat but keep the small glass bowl over the still-hot water to keep the commixture molten.
Add peppermint oil to your preference. I suggest that you add a few drops at a time and testing a tiny amount on your arm to make sure the scent is to your liking.
After adding and totally mixing the essential oils, use the pipette to fill the lip chap tubes or a small jar. You must be fast with this step because the mixture will harden after it’s taken away from heat.
Store the tubes at room temperature for several hours until it turns solid before capping them.
Bonus Tip: Use one or two extra teaspoons of OTI yellow raw beeswax if you prefer a thicker and lasting lip balm or slightly less if you prefer a lighter lip balm. One benefit of this recipe is that you can re-melt and add more ingredients until you get the texture or quality you desire. You can add your preferred flavor or sweetener as you wish.
