Organic Trade & Investments (OTI) Launches Toll Processing Service for Shea Nut Clients Starting August 1st

ACCRA, GHANA — In direct response to growing client demand for flexible supply chain solutions, Organic Trade & Investments (OTI), in partnership with its production partners, has officially announced the launch of a dedicated Shea Nut Toll Processing Service, effective August 1st, 2026.

Under this new operational model, clients can supply their own raw shea nuts directly to OTI for processing into premium-grade shea butter. The service ensures that client-supplied nuts are processed under OTI’s rigorous quality control standards while offering cost efficiency through fractionated pricing.

Unlocking Value Through Custom Processing

This new service provides agricultural exporters, cosmetic manufacturers, and wholesale buyers greater operational flexibility, allowing them to leverage OTI's state-of-the-art processing infrastructure while managing their own raw material sourcing.

Key Highlights & Operational Guidelines:

Yield Expectations: Depending on the raw material quality, typical processing yields range between 29% and 30%.
Fair & Transparent Billing: Clients are billed strictly on the final volume of butter produced, rather than the raw volume of nuts submitted, ensuring full efficiency and accountability.
Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): The toll processing option is tailored for commercial-scale orders, requiring a minimum output of 13 Metric Tonnes (MT) of refined shea butter.
Supply Requirement: To meet the 13 MT butter threshold, clients are required to supply between 43 MT and 45 MT of raw shea nuts, depending on raw nut quality.
