The recent shock of COVID-19 has made people question what they consume and how safe that produce is for their health. More and more consumers have become environmentally and health conscious and cautious. Where is the final or semi-finished article grown? How is it grown? By whom? These are all questions that suppliers have to provide answers to. Being environmentally and health conscious means finding new healthy ways of living and that comes with a change of behavior and diet.
In the last few years, gluten-free articles have become a household first meals. Among the many gluten-free foods that are being rediscovered, Bambara beans, quinoa, and recently, Fonio, are now the sought-after super foods on the market.
As consumers’ behavior changes towards foods, the problem still remains as to what are the benefits of some of these super-foods available to them and how to prepare these meals?
As a processor and supplier of a variety of gluten-free and super food articles, we know too well the challenges of customers in identifying the right suppliers of these produce. Moreover, it has come to our attention that, based on various internal customer experience, behavior and market research exercise conducted in the last few months, there are still a number of customers who have little or no clue as to how to use Fonio grain or its flour.
As part of our marketing strategy plan, we have decided to sensitize and educate the general public on the great health benefits of Fonio and make available to them some of the nutritious recipes, made with our own Fonio products – OTI Gluten-Free White Fonio Grain and OTI Gluten-Free White Fonio Flour.
